Greenside Primary School in Droylsden is celebrating a remarkable achievement after Year 6 pupil Martha Yosief was named a national award winner in the Show Racism the Red Card School Competition 2026.
Martha’s artwork stood out to a panel of independent judges, earning her top recognition in the All Ages & Abilities T-Shirt Category - one of the competition’s creative design strands.
The annual competition attracted an impressive 25,000 entries from children across the UK, making Martha’s success an outstanding accomplishment on a national level.
Greenside’s art teacher, Jill Chesney, praised Martha’s achievement and her attitude towards her work. She said: “In a competition involving children from all over the country, Martha did so well! She is such a fantastic role model in art club, always helping the younger children and so modest about her abilities!”
The Show Racism the Red Card competition encourages pupils to use art, writing and creativity to challenge racism and promote equality, values that are central to Greenside Primary School and the wider Victorious Academies Trust.
