Now Playing Oasis Live Forever

17:17

From Monday 1st July onwards, our band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are 17:17. Formed in 2021, the two-piece band consists of the core songwriting partnership of Bernard Brough and Jim Mennell. They had previously known each other from performing in covers bands around Greater Manchester and beyond, before getting together and forming this current original band.

With a retro sound which they are proud of, 17:17 take influence from a broad range of genres, and between the two of them are influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Abba, Yes, Genesis, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, all the way back to the 1950's Doo-Wop sound.

They released a debut EP in 2022, followed by more new music early the following year. By the end of 2023 they had released their debut album 'Deeper', which is available through all major streaming platforms and digital distributors. Plans for this year include completing the band's line up with more new musicians, collaborating with other creatives, and writing and producing more new music. 17:17 will be played on every weekday show on Tameside Radio between 6am and 7pm all week. The band also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show on Monday 24th June, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website.
