Belle

From Monday 29th July onwards, our artist of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature is Belle. A female singer songwriter, with the most stunning voice, who began singing cover versions at a young age, and by the time she was 11 she was already performing live.

As a fan of poetry as well as singing, during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, Belle used the time to start writing her own material. Influenced by the likes of Avril Lavigne, Lauryn Hill and Alanis Morissette, along with the Pop Punk sound and more recent singers such as Olivia Rodrigo, Belle creates music with influence from personal experience, which is also relatable to her fans and listeners.

By sharing her music on social media platforms, at the age of 15, and with four songs already written, Belle was spotted and went on to appear on CBBC's Saturday Mash-Up! programme, followed by a tour of UK schools in which she performed live in front of 1000's of school children and staff. Belle's mum had also been a singer, who had supported pop band Steps, so with her guidance, Belle was well advised, and gained a whole army of new fans on the tour.

Songs released so far include 'Beautiful To Me', 'Run', 'Follow Ur Heart', 'Nv', and 'Fluorescent Light', and are available on all usual streaming sites, and Belle can be found on Instagram at 'Bellekumblerose'. With aims of an album release next year, more live dates, and a career in modelling, Belle has the world at her feet and will hopefully be one of the country's next big female singer songwriters.

Belle's music will be played on every weekday show on Tameside Radio from Monday 29th July to Friday 2nd August week, she also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show on Monday 22nd July, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website.
