Fleurs

From Monday 12th August onwards, our band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are Fleurs. The four piece are an indie pop band consisting of Dylan Crane, Tamara Lloyd, Sam Kelly, Joe Harrison and newest member Michael Sweeney, who are not afraid to blend genres when creating their music.

The band say their aim is to bring fun, emotive, and meaningful indie pop songs to the whole of the U.K. and beyond. Influences come from artists such as The 1975, Beabadoobie, Wolf Alice, Pale Waves, Pheobe Bridgers, Claire, Wallows, and Boygenius. Their latest single, ‘Call You Mine (Booty Call)’ has been critically acclaimed by BBC Introducing, which follows the success of previous songs which have also received airplay from several Northern radio stations.

Fleurs were formed in February 2023, at the time consisting of core members Tamara Lloyd and Dylan Crane. They played their first gig two months later, supporting iconic Wigan band Big Bambora on their final ever gig. Following the gig, the band went on to release debut single ‘Indigo’. Fleurs have since played at many iconic venues around the Northwest including the likes of Liverpool venues The Shipping Forecast, The Jacaranda and EBGBS, plus Manchester's 33 Oldham St, and have more gigs lined up this year.

Fleurs can be found on all usual social media platforms, and their music will be played on every daytime show on Tameside Radio from 6am on Monday 12th August. They also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show on Monday 5th August, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website.
