New Esport Lab For Students
Esports students will have access to a lab filled with cutting edge technology as they learn about "one of the biggest entertainment markets on the planet", those behind the project have said.
The lab, created by the University of Salford’s business school, includes industry standard broadcasting technology, a tournament space and a Formula 1-licensed racing simulator.
The lab has been designed to host and broadcast sports competitions with cameras and TV mixing equipment.
A suite for teaching, learning and gaming has also been built for the course, which is about to enter its second year.

New Drone Delivery Trial Paused
Plans for a new drone delivery trial have been paused following objections from locals.
The service would see drones delivering goods, with up to six flights a day to and from Mornington Road car park on the Isle of Wight.
Isle of Wight Council said the start date would be postponed by one week to allow it to meet with residents in person to discuss their concerns.

NHS Software Provider Provisionally Fined
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has provisionally imposed a fine on an NHS software provider over a data breach which affected more than 80,000 people.
The breach took place in 2022 and included sensitive personal information including medical records and "how to gain entry to the homes of 890 people".
But the ICO stressed it was a provisional fine, and it would wait to hear from Advanced Computer Software Group before making a final decision.
It said its initial findings were that personal information belonging to 82,946 people had been "exfiltrated" by hackers.

Combine three random words to create a password that’s ‘long enough and strong enough’.
Weak passwords can be cracked in seconds. The longer and more unusual your password is, the harder it is for a cyber criminal to crack.
A good way to make your password difficult to crack is by combining three random words to create a password (for example applenemobiro). Or you could use a password manager, which can create strong passwords for you (and remember them).
