Plans To Deliver Defibrillators By Drone

Plans to deliver defibrillators to patients by drones are being developed by the Welsh Ambulance Service.

It has already conducted "test flights" and will now interview people who have helped heart attack victims to understand best practices.

Defibrillators are used - alongside resuscitation or CPR - to give the best chance of survival after a cardiac arrest.

The ambulance service said it could be the difference between life and death.

TikTok's New Rival App To Instagram

TikTok is to take on social media rival, Instagram, by launching a photo-sharing app.

The company said it was working on a "dedicated space" for images and text.

Some users have received notifications saying their photo posts will be shared to a new "TikTok Notes" app unless they opt out.

It is the latest example of social media firms imitating each others' products - including Instagram launching Reels, a TikTok-like video tool, in 2020.

The huge advantage it has over a ChatGPT search is how Perplexity backs up all facts with sources.

Perplexity also includes images and other media in its search results where appropriate.

🛡️ Security Corner 🛡️

A password manager (or a web browser) can store all your passwords securely, so you don’t have to worry about remembering them.

This allows you to use unique, strong passwords for all your important accounts (rather than using the same password for all of them, which you should never do).

In addition, many password managers are helpful because they can:

  • Synchronise your passwords across your different devices, making it easier to log on, wherever you are, and whatever you’re using
  • Help spot fake websites, which will protect you from phishing attacks
  • Let you know if you’re re-using the same password across different accounts
  • Notify you if your password appears within a known data breach so you know if you need to change it
  • Work across platforms, so you could (for example) use a single password manager that would work for your iPhone and your Windows desktop
