UK Aircraft Tested Quantum Tech
A UK aircraft has tested ground-breaking quantum technology that could pave the way for an unjammable back-up for GPS navigation systems.
The government, which helped fund the research, said it was the first test of its kind to be publicly acknowledged.
While GPS is satellite-based, the new system is quantum-based - a term used to describe tech that is reliant on the properties of matter at very small scales.
Science minister Andrew said the test flights were "further proof of the UK as one of the world leaders on quantum".

Guernsey: Over 1,500 People Data Breaches
More than 1,500 people in Guernsey have been affected by personal data breaches in the first quarter of this year, according to the Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA).
It is the highest number ev er recorded in the island in one quarter.
The ODPA is aiming to help organisations improve their breach preparedness.
Local organisations reported a total of 42 personal data breaches, affecting 1,536 people.

New Device for Cancer Patients
A new device to help reduce the time cancer patients spend in hospital has been given regulatory approval.
The Liberty allows patients to take blood tests - and upload the results - at home, and without supervision.
Its users say it allows them to cut down on draining hospital visits, while clinicians suggest it could boost NHS productivity.
After being trialled at the Christie, in Manchester, the device will now be deployed at 12 NHS sites.
However, Cancer Research UK says it has so far only been trialled on a small number of people. More work is needed before we know whether it can be used more widely in cancer care, the charity says.

Updates include protection from viruses and other kinds of malware, and will often include improvements and new features.
You should also turn on 'automatic updates' in your device's settings, if available.
This will mean you do not have to remember to apply updates.
