YouTube Hype
A new feature called Hype, YouTube is trying to focus on growing the smaller channels and helping people discover and share new creators.
Hype is an entirely new promotional system inside of YouTube: there’s a new button for hyping a video, and the most-hyped videos will appear on a platform-wide leaderboard.
It’s like Trending, but it’s focused specifically on smaller channels and on what people specifically choose to recommend rather than just what they watch.

Fake Texts About Parking Fines
Councils across Suffolk have issued a warning over texts being sent out falsely informing people they have to pay outstanding parking fines.
West Suffolk Council said the phone messages were fake and part of a national scam.
The texts include a link to a bogus government website, where people are asked to input their vehicle registration number. It then shows they have a parking fine charged at £20.
West Suffolk Council, in common with other authorities, has received a number of enquiries about the fictitious fines and said it did not issue parking fines through text messages.
The authority said genuine fines were issued in yellow penalty charge notice wallets on vehicle windscreens by West Suffolk Council civil enforcement officers.

Instagram Teen Accounts
Instagram is overhauling the way it works for teenagers, promising more "built-in protections" for young people and added controls and reassurance for parents.
The new “teen accounts” are being introduced from Tuesday in the UK, US, Canada and Australia.
They will turn many privacy settings on by default for all under 18s, including making their content unviewable to people who don't follow them, and making them actively approve all new followers.
But children aged 13 to 15 will only be able to adjust the settings by adding a parent or guardian to their account.

🛡️ Security Corner 🛡️
Combine three random words to create a password that’s ‘long enough and strong enough’.
Weak passwords can be cracked in seconds. The longer and more unusual your password is, the harder it is for a cyber criminal to crack.
Avoid the most common passwords that criminals can easily guess (like ‘password’). You should also avoid creati ng passwords from significant dates (like your birthday, or a loved one’s), or from your favourite sports team, or by using family and pet names. Most of these details can be found within your social media profile.
