Apple Announced New Iphone With AI
Apple has announced a new iPhone which brings artificial intelligence (AI) features at a lower cost than its flagship handsets.
The iPhone 16e has the same processor as the larger iPhone 16, Apple said, with similar storage options, though a lower spec elsewhere, including fewer cameras.
Apple has been struggling to find a new product that excites consumers - sales of iPhones dropped at the end of last year.
It will be bringing enhanced AI functionality to a less expensive phone will address that - however analysts have been cautious about the sales boost such tools bring.

Metas Sub-Sea Cable Plans - Project Waterworth
Meta has announced plans to build a 50,000km (31,000 mile) sub-sea cable across the world.
The tech giant said Project Waterworth - connecting the US, India, South Africa, Brazil and other regions - will be the world's longest underwater cable project when completed.
Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has sought to extend its presence in technology beyond social media, including in artificial intelligence (AI) and the infrastructure that supports it.
It said its new cable project would provide "industry-leading connectivity" to five major continents and help support its AI projects.

Tiktok start Spudman Forced Off His Pitch
More than 100,000 people have now signed an online petition to support TikTok star Spudman who thought he had been forced off his pitch for good.
Ben Newman's regular pitch is being turned into a flowerbed as part of work to improve St Editha's Square in Tamworth, Staffordshire, he said.
The borough council has now told him that once the revamp is finished vendors would be welcomed back and Spudman would be "just a few metres" from his original spot.
Mr Newman, who has four-million followers on TikTok, has been credited with bringing more visitors to the town off the back of his fame.

The increased use of video conferencing technology in recent years means many of us are now using video calls to stay in touch with family, friends and work colleagues.
Check the privacy settings. You should make sure that you understand what (if any) data the service will access during operation. You may have the option to opt out of sharing data.
Know who is joining your call. If you are organising the call for your family or friends consider using the lobby feature to ensure you know who has arrived.
This is especially useful if individuals are joining the call via an unrecognised phone number.
Make sure people are who they say they are before they join the call (the password function described above can help with this).
