New AI Tool Identifies Breast Cancer
An AI tool tested by an NHS hospital trust successfully identified tiny signs of breast cancer in 11 women which had been missed by human doctors.
The tool, called Mia, was piloted alongside NHS clinicians and analysed the mammograms of over 10,000 women.
Most of them were cancer-free, but it successfully flagged all of those with symptoms, as well as an extra 11 the doctors did not identify.
At their earliest stages, cancers can be extremely small and hard to spot.

Princess Of Wales Medical Information Breach
The hospital where Catherine, Princess of Wales, underwent abdominal surgery has said "any breach" of patient information would be investigated.
It follows reports a staff member tried to access her medical information.
The London Clinic - frequently used by royals - said it had "no place" for those intentionally breaching the trust of patients or colleagues.
Earlier, the Information Commissioners' Office said it had received a "breach report" and was making inquiries.

Flying Taxis Plan
The first flying taxi could take off in the UK by 2026 and become a regular sight in our skies two years later, if a government announcement goes to plan.
The Future of Flight action plan, developed with the aerospace industry, also says drones and other flying vehicles will become more autonomous.
It predicts that the first pilotless flying taxi will take off in 2030.
But experts say hurdles such as infrastructure and public acceptance need to be overcome first.

Action Fraud issues a new warning to stay safe online after £1.3 million lost from hacked email and social media account scams last year
Data from Action Fraud, the national fraud and cybercrime reporting service, shows that 22,530 people reported that their online accounts had been hacked in 2023, with victims losing a total of £1.3 million.
Pauline Smith, Head of Action Fraud, said:
“Anyone with a social media or email account can be a target for fraudsters or cyberattacks. It is important to take action to secure your accounts, as fraud becomes even harder to detect with technology on a global scale.”
