Amazons Drone Delivery UK Location Picked
Amazon has chosen Darlington as the first location in the UK to see parcels delivered by drones.
It says it will now start the planning process for initial flights from its fulfilment centre on the outskirts of the town.
The online giant had previously promised it would start a drone delivery service by the end of 2024.
The Civil Aviation Authority has still to come up with rules on how commercial drones can safely be used for deliveries.
Amazon acknowledged there was still much work to do but said it was "ready and excited".

Vodafones First UK Satellite-Enabled Video Call
Vodafone has carried out what it says is the UK's first satellite-enabled smartphone video call.
The company says the call - made from a mountain in Ceredigion, west Wales - is part of the process of adding satellite connectivity to its UK phone network by the end of the year, and across Europe in 2026.
Vodafone boss Margherita Della Valle says it could eliminate "not spots" - places without mobile signal - which regulator Ofcom estimates can be found in 9% of the UK.
However, experts say regulatory hurdles will need to be cleared and many more satellites launched for the service to take off.

Ubisoft Closing Leamington Office
Gaming giant Ubisoft is set to close its office in Leamington.
The closure of the Warwickshire site and a restructuring of its office in Newcastle-upon-Tyne will put 100 jobs at risk.
The move is part of a wider process to reorganise the French company's workforce, which will affect a total of 185 jobs across Europe.
It said the plans would "ensure long-term stability" at the firm.
Ubisoft has been plagued by delays and the underperformance of some key titles, including Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was originally due for release in November but will now go on sale in March.

🛡️ Security Corner 🛡️
Smart devices are electrical items that connect to the internet (or to your home network), usually via wifi. They include 'hi-tech' devices (think smart speakers, fitness trackers and security cameras) and also standard household items (such as fridges, thermostats, kettles and washing machines).
Unlike conventional electrical items, you can't just switch on a smart device and forget it; you'll need to check a few things before you start using it.
Your device is not secure if a criminal can guess the password used to access your smart device. This would allow them to log into your device, and use it to access your network, or to conduct cyber attacks.
