Developers Lost The Battle To Build A 5G Phone Mast
Developers have lost their battle to install a 20m (66ft) high 5G phone mast on a site close to a popular Blackpool destination.
An independent planning inspector has ruled the structure would be "incongruous" if it was installed on a site close to the Solaris Centre in South Shore.
Telecom infrastructure company CK Hutchinson had been refused planning permission for the scheme at the junction of Clifton Drive and Harrowside by Blackpool Council in October, but had lodged an appeal.
It said the mast was necessary to provide 5G internet coverage in the area, and would replace a mast at Squires Gate where the site is being redeveloped.

Culture Shift In Games Development
Kellie Dingwall is one of a growing number of visually impaired people who are getting into online gaming.
Gaming studios are increasingly thinking about things like sight-loss or motor skills issues as they open up games to a whole new audience.
Disabled gamers have pointed to a culture shift in games development with features now built in “from the ground up”.
Kellie says the changes can be as simple as increasing the writing size on-screen for those with partial sight loss or providing better colour contrast options.

4G and 5G Mobile Coverage In The Elizabeth Line, London
The first tunnelled section of the Elizabeth line in London now has high speed mobile coverage, Transport for London (TfL) has announced.
Passengers travelling between Liverpool Street and Paddington are now able to access 4G and 5G mobile coverage in the tunnels.
It follows on from all Elizabeth line stations getting mobile coverage earlier this year.
London’s Transport Commissioner, Andy Lord, said: “It’s wonderful to see our programme to introduce high-speed mobile coverage now benefitting customers on the Elizabeth line.

A data breach occurs when information held by an organisation is stolen or accessed without authorisation.
Criminals can then use this information when creating phishing messages (such as emails and texts) so that they appear legitimate. The message has been designed to make it sound like you're being individually targeted, when in reality the criminals are sending out millions of these scam messages. Criminals may even send messages pretending to be from an organisation that has suffered a recent data breach.
