WalkSafe App Launched In Manchester
A free app that aims to keep people safe while walking and taking public transport is being rolled out across a city.
The WalkSafe app has gone live in Manchester and helps users to pick safe travel routes, sharing their location and alerting friends and family if they do not reach their destination.
The app, which also features a map of safe spaces in the city, has been backed by Manchester City Council.

Suffolk Village Reconnected Wrong
Residents of a small village were reconnected to the wrong telephone lines after a pole carrying cables was damaged by a large vehicle.
Nearly five weeks after the incident on a country lane at Eastbridge, near Leiston in Suffolk, some phones are still not working properly.
With poor mobile signals, some residents said they relied on landlines for their calls and for confirmation of hospital appointments.
Openreach, which is responsible for telecoms infrastructure, said it was aware of some crossed lines and a permanent repair would be carried out soon.

Tewkesbury Borough Council Cyber Attack
A council has warned residents that many of its services are unavailable after a cyber attack.
On Wednesday afternoon, Tewkesbury Borough Council took "necessary cyber response steps" and began shutting down its systems following the incident.
An investigation into the attack is underway, and council leaders are working closely with the national cyber security centre and counter-fraud agency.
Residents and businesses are advised to only contact the council if it is "absolutely necessary".

Action Fraud, the national fraud and cybercrime reporting service, has launched a student safety campaign, revealing the top frauds to look out for and how to prevent themselves from becoming a target.
This year, Action Fraud reveals the top five frauds most reported by those aged between 11 and 29 to give students and young people a heads up on what to look out to protect themselves.
These are:
1.Investment fraud
2. Fake job fraud
3. Rental fraud
4. Online shopping fraud
5. Ticket fraud
