Jesus Knievel
From Monday 16th December onwards, band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are Jesus Knievel. The three-piece psychedelic, alt rock trio formed in 2007, and have spent over 15 years building a loyal and loving fan base, via their unpredictable and explosive live shows, along with the release of four eclectic, exuberant studio albums. Encompassing everything from psychedelia, punk, pop, country and funk, Jesus Knievel take great pride in creating a joyous, genre smashing sonic legacy that defies easy categorisation. Earlier this year the band released their long awaited fourth studio album ‘The Plural of Hiatus’ and promoted it with a series of live shows. With a schedule that shows no sign of slowing down, and latest single 'The Bee In The Middle' recently released, Jesus Knievel are one of Manchester’s most dynamic and in demand live acts. Consisting of drummer Richie Gradwell, guitarist and vocalist Ste Morris, and bass player Pete Smyth, the band are influenced by the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Yo La Tengo, Big Star, Arthur Lee and Love, English Teacher, Dinosaur Junior, Regina Spektor, Nina Simone, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Squid, The Stone Roses, and many more. They are currently working on their next EP 'Tony Raviolli' and will be playing a special Christmas gig at their local venue The Railway in Greenfield on Friday December 27th.
