Mercy Kelly
From Monday 7th October, our band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are Mercy Kelly. Influenced by iconic bands such as The Cure, The Smiths, Kasabian and U2, Mercy Kelly have been making waves in the music scene since forming in 2019.
Consisting of Jack Marland (vocals), Adam Bridge (guitar), Joel Buckley (bass), Jacob Simpson (guitar) and Leon Hepke (drums), their unique sound can be described as a blend of post-punk and alternative rock and has earned them a dedicated following and critical acclaim.
The band's new single "Lights" has already caught the attention of numerous radio stations, including the prestigious BBC Introducing, and promises to be a hit with loyal fans and new listeners. The band plan to continue writing and recording new songs and will be releasing more next year, with the aim of playing at as many festivals as possible in 2025 and continuing to improve their live sound, so that shows can be as entertaining and memorable as possible.
