Montello

From Monday 17th March onwards, band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are Montello. The indie-rock quartet formed in October 2023, and consist of Jacob Knowles on Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Liam Conway on Lead Guitar, Jacob Ratcliffe on Bass and Toby Devereux on Drums. They began gigging in early 2024 around Greater Manchester and have since developed a loyal following. After releasing the singles ‘House On Fire’ and ‘Class Act’ in the first part of 2024, they held their debut headline show in July 2024 at Manchester Academy 3 to a packed crowd. Following this, the band were announced as part of respected promotors 'This Feeling’s ‘Big in 2025’ programme for up-and-coming artists around the UK, helping them to grow and develop their act. Their plans for the future are to travel further around the country with the band, as well as gearing up for the upcoming festival season and more future releases. Montello plan to bring together their influences to create songs which defy genres in order to make their music as accessible and appealing to as many listeners as possible. The band are influenced by a whole range of musical artists and genres, ranging from Two-Tone and Northern Soul to the latest offerings in Post Punk and Indie from bands such as Fontaines DC, The Lathums and Declan McKenna. Montello play live at Off The Square, Manchester on Friday 2nd May, tickets are available on Skiddle.
