Alan Ovington's Album Review - 25 July 2024

With considerable radio play across Europe, Irish rockers Mine Road have just released their long awaited new studio album 'Tomorrow's Sky' and an additional single 'American Dream' which is very reminiscent of Tom Petty. Mine Road come from Dublin, and meld their heavy grooving guitar punch with some high octane vocals

But, this year, they have stepped upped their songwriting, which is now much more cohesive."Tomorrow's Sky" is their full length debut. It sees the band reunited and re-energised after several years living abroad. Settling back in Dublin allowed the group to focus on writing and recording together with spectacular results. The album is the long awaited follow up to their "Satellite" EP and it certainly does not disappoint.

The band toured nationally to test material before entering the studio and settling on 11 tracks that not only have the muscle, but also weave real emotion into the soundscape of the album, making it quite the journey.

If you're looking for colossal choruses flanked by crushing riffs and huge drums, then step into Mine Road's world where stories of love, loss, triumph and heartbreak are told with unwavering honesty.
