The new album ”Icon” by Sweden’s Liar Thief Bandit is something else. After 200 shows and numerous landmark anthems, everything has led up to the fourth full-length album, and it truly lives up to its name. ”Icon” is a staple and instant classic on the rock scene, blending everything you would ever wish for in a melodic rock record.

The raw and pure elements are caught on tape in a live setting to capture the true essence of the band, the melodies are added with clinical precision. The heartfelt lyrics set the tone to deliver a melancholic and insightful message. From the first intense second to the last, you’ll be overwhelmed with a dynamic soundscape rarely witnessed in this genre. Every element serves its purpose musically as well as lyrically. Be prepared for an eleven track long journey through exceptional audible environments, dark passages and hopeful awakenings. 

Established in Malmö in 2014, Liar Thief Bandit has played over 200 shows touring mainland Europe, the UK and Spain over the last couple of years including support shows for The Bronx, Supersuckers, Hank von Hell, Electric Six, Valiant Thorr among others. The band count a support tour in Sweden with Royal Republic (Live Nation) in 2022, a slot at Sweden Rock Festival last year as their biggest achievements.

This is what you get if you blend the melodic essence that helped shape the ‘70s and the raw garage revival of the late ‘90s with a modern touch of uplifting lyrics and undeniable energy. Liar Thief Bandit is a power trio born to play live with the sole purpose to carry the torch of all that ever was, and will be; rock’n’roll in its purest form.
