Willow Wood Hospice has appealed for people to donate 8,000 Creme Eggs to children taking part in its annual Bunny Hop.
Each child gets an egg-citing Easter activity pack, a snap wristband, a Creme Egg and pair of bunny ears for the sponsored boing-a-thon.
The only thing kids need to do in return is to raise some sponsorship money.
2024 was a record-breaking year for the event with 7,000 youngsters raising £49,000 for the Ashton-based charity, and organisers hope to crack the £50,000 barrier this time.
“Last year, we raised a record amount for our Bunny Hop since it first launched in 2021 and we would love to top that this year,” said Willow Wood’s Tracey Schofield.
“If you have not signed up yet, there’s still time and it’s free to join in.
“We need as many Creme Eggs as possible and every contribution, however small, will make a difference to children who are raising funds to support patients from the local community with a life-limiting illness.
“We appreciate your generosity.”
The eggs must be donated by Friday March 14, with drop-off points at each of the charity’s shops across Tameside and Glossop, as well as at the hospice’s reception off Mellor Road in Ashton.
There is also the option of buying the Creme Eggs online and having them delivered straight to Willow Wood, or even using a cash donation form on the hospice’s website.
Any school, nursery or children’s group that wishes to take part in the Willow Wood Bunny Hop can still sign up, by emailing tracey.schofield@willowwood.org.uk or calling 0161 330 7788.
