Balaclava wearing moped thieves strike in Hurst

Ashton police are searching for three balaclava clad thieves who stole a moped from Vicarage Crescent in Hurst.

The Modena HS125 was taken in the early hours of Monday September 2, with the trio taking off towards Rowley Street at around 12:35am. 

“One of the offenders is described as slim build, wearing a blue jacket with black trousers,” said a statement from Hurst PCSO Phillip Jones. “The other two are described as slim build wearing all dark clothing. All three were wearing black balaclavas.” 

The moped is described as grey with red racing stripes. 

Police have also asked residents of Vicarage Crescent and Rowley Street to forward any relevant CCTV footage that shows the theft or the criminals escaping.
