Four brave youngsters at an Audenshaw primary school have been honoured after saving the day when their parents were involved in medical emergencies.
The children, all aged between four and five, have been hailed as heroes by staff at Poplar Street Primary.
Alfie, Bailey, and Benjamin, all in Key Stage One, demonstrated exceptional courage when they found their mother unconscious at home.
Their quick thinking and teamwork played a vital role in ensuring she received the necessary medical attention.
They immediately contacted emergency services, providing crucial details that allowed for a rapid response.
Their ability to remain composed under pressure showcases how the siblings were able to work together in a crisis.
In a separate incident, Bella, a Key Stage Two pupil, exhibited similar courage when her mother suddenly collapsed.
Alone in the house, Bella understood the urgency of the situation.
Despite her fear, she dialled the emergency services without hesitation, articulating the situation clearly to the operator.
Her composed demeanour ensured that help arrived promptly, highlighting her remarkable ability to handle an emergency. Bella’s actions in such a terrifying moment are nothing short of heroic.
Headteacher Helen Fletcher said: “The actions of Alfie, Bailey, Benjamin, and Bella serve as an inspiring example of bravery for their classmates and the wider community. Their responses to these frightening situations are a testament to their character and strength, qualities that the school community is proud to celebrate.
“Our Trust and our school commend these children for their heroism.”
Alfie, Bailey, Benjamin, and Bella were all presented with a trophy for bravery and a lion soft toy by Karen Burns, CEO of Victorious Academies Trust.
