'Kids in Denton have always enjoyed swimming in raw sewage' - MP's wife's sick WhatsApp messages revealed

A Tameside councillor married to disgraced MP Andrew Gwynne joked about youngsters swimming in human waste on the 'racist and sexist' Trigger Me Timbers WhatsApp group.

Allison Gwynne made the comments as members of the group joked about someone falling into filthy water.

She posted: "Kids in Denton have always enjoyed swimming in street rubbish/raw sewage'.

Her Tameside council colleague Jack Naylor replied: "I bet he's s******g through the eye of a needle this morning."

In the same group, Gorton and Denton MP Andrew Gwynne said he hoped a 72-year-old woman who complained about her bins died before the next election and joked about a Labour Party supporter being hit by a lorry.

Sexist jokes were also made about Deputy Prime Minister and Ashton MP Angela Rayner and an academic was described as looking 'too Jewish'.

The group also swapped homophobic slurs, describing a Labour candidate as a 'sodomite.

A party activist called Colin Baily was dubbed Colin C*mface by Andrew Gwynne before Burnley MP, and former Audenshaw councillor, Oliver Ryan ammended it to 'deaf Colin C*mface'.

Both Andrew Gwynne and Ryan have publicly apologist for their posts.

Gwynne was sacked from his job as health minister and he and Ryan are under investigation by the Labour Party.

Ironically, today a Facebook posting from another member of the group, Cllr George Newton pleading for 'respect' and an end to abuse during the local elections campaign.

He posted: "Let's campaign passionately but respectfully and remember that we have far more in common than that which divides us."
