Festive frolics are afoot at Dogs Trust Manchester as the team deck the halls in preparation for its annual Christmas Fair on Sunday, December 1.
With just a few weeks to go until the Denton-based rehoming centre hosts the much-loved festive event, staff are on the lookout for donations of chocolate and other sweet treats along with bottles for its treats tombola, pre-loved doggie accessories and gifts such as toiletries and trinkets for its traditional tombola.
They are also appealing for dog-loving bakers to make a cake or two for the ever-popular café.
Nicola Hardman, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Manchester and organiser of the event, said: “The Christmas Fair is a key fundraising event for us and it’s always a great day for everyone.
“Every penny raised makes sure we can give our dogs everything they need throughout the year, not just at Christmas, whilst they wait to find a happy place of their own with their new families.”
At the event, which runs from 10am-4pm, some of the dogs ready to head to new homes will take part in a rehoming parade in the hope of finding their special someone, and there will be lots of fun activities for four-legged visitors to take part in including Fastest Recall, Best Sausage Catcher, Prettiest Pooch, Most Handsome Dog, Best Golden Oldie and Best Dogs Trust Rescue.
There will also be craft and gift stalls, so you can get your dog or special human that extra Christmas present, as well as a café and games to enjoy.
If you are able to help, please send or drop off any donations to Dogs Trust Manchester, Parkway, Denton, M34 3SG. Entry and parking are free on the day.
