Students at Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form took home more than 20 prizes in the Greater Manchester Colleges Group skills competition.
Hosted across nine colleges in the region, the tournament has categories in a variety of technical disciplines ranging from engineering and bricklaying to hair and beauty.
Tameside youngsters won gold medals in seven subjects, alongside five second place finishes and nine third places.
They also claimed the overall prizes in the hospitality, health and social care, and travel and tourism sections.
Jackie Moores, principal and CEO at Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “These fantastic results are a testament to the dedication and talent of our students and staff.
“The Greater Manchester Colleges skills competitions provide an incredible opportunity for learners to showcase their abilities and gain real world experience in their chosen fields, competing with all the Greater Manchester talent from other high performing colleges.
“We are extremely proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive. Well done to all who took part.”
The competition acts as a feeder for the UK arm of the WorldSkills championship, which were held in Lyon last year, and featured two Tameside College pupils – Lisa Yelland and Ben Love – who won Medallions of Excellence in the mechatronics category.
The 2025 national qualifiers take place from April to June with the finals happening in November.
Those who qualify for Squad UK will have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the WorldSkills 2026 competition in Shanghai.
