After the massive success of last year's huge 40th anniversary tour,  legendary soul band Stax Of Soul will be rolling back into Uppermill in November as part of this year's series of tour dates. The band have spent over four decades playing sold out gigs, celebrating some of the greatest music of all time with their huge army of fans, along with the pure longevity and huge popularity of the band which started in Manchester back in 1983.

The nine-piece band features arguably the most loved and respected soul frontman in the UK, Stuart Widdall, who's been with the band since 1988, and remains joined by other long serving members Don Parfitt, Peter Lee, Paul Phillips, Pete Clark, Steve Valentine, Rick Halliwell, Darren Roberts and Paul Rigby. The band have forever been known for constantly selling out venues around the UK and continue to do so, playing the best in Soul, Motown, Northern Soul, and much of the classic music and hits the genres launched.

Covering all the great hits from bands and artists such as The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Edwin Starr, Sam and Dave, The Four Tops, Otis Redding, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield and many more, Stax Of Soul have always provided a night to remember. The bands fully live show features around two hours of hits, floor fillers and anthems, and musically Stax Of Soul continue to be one of the most faultless bands around.

The concert at Uppermill Civic Hall is promoted by Pop Up Music With Attitude events, who are known for putting a series of sell out gigs on at the venue throughout the year. I'll be DJing and hosting on the night and can promise a night with Stax Of Soul is one to remember. Don't miss this chance to see one of the finest bands around live on the run up to Christmas. Stax Of Soul play live at Uppermill Civic Hall on Friday November 29th, tickets are available on ticketline and in person from Uppermill's Post Office, Inner Space Records, and Suki's Wardrobe. Doors on the night open at 7pm, hope to see you there, at what is undoubtably the area's best Soul and Motown night.

  • Oasis show is a fitting tribute

With 2025 already in the history books as the year Oasis make their long-awaited reunion, it's fitting that the first ever theatre show telling the story of the rise of the legendary Manchester band through their songs also debuted three days into the New Year.

Pauline Town MBE is a Tameside hero and a legend. As landlady of The Station Hotel in Ashton, she has made the respected British pub much more than that, it's also a hub for the homeless, victims of domestic abuse, families in need, and those facing poverty in this area.

Its three years since Stereophonics last toured, and last week the band announced their biggest ever UK and Ireland stadium tour which will take place in 2025.

When we started our Local music Spotlight feature on Tameside Radio and across the Not Really Here Group media outlets back in January 2023, I knew what an important feature it would be for local bands and artists, but I don't think anybody could have predicted just how successful it has been.

Two days before Oasis's debut album 'Definitely Maybe' celebrated its 30th anniversary, the news broke that 15 years since splitting up, Liam and Noel Gallagher would be getting the band back together next year. If you had asked me a few years ago if i would like them to get back together, I probably would have said no, leave it in the history books just as The Beatles and The Jam did
