It's just over two weeks until legendary singer songwriter Paul Young hits the road for a huge UK theatre tour lasting until mid-June. The tour, which is named 'From No Parlez To The Secret Of The Association' will look back at his incredible career during these intimate shows, that will combine conversation and acoustic versions of many of his hit songs.

Paul will be meeting fans, singing songs, and telling stories about his life in music, with audiences able to learn about the stories behind the songs. In the early part of his career, Paul Young was a member of bands including Kat Kool and The Kool Cats, Streetband, and Q-Tips, before going solo and becoming one of the biggest artists of a generation. Releasing ten studio albums, three live albums, numerous compilations and box sets, and over 30 singles, he was a regular artist in the top ten of the singles charts during the 1980's with hits such as 'Love Of The Common People', 'Wherever I Lay My Hat (that's my home)', 'Come Back & Stay', 'Every Time You Go Away', and 'Everything Must Change'. He was a key part of the charity single 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' in 1984, where he sang the iconic opening lines on the song, and was then awarded a Brit Award in 1985 as 'Best British Male Solo Artist', and has been present at gigs and festivals around the world ever since, both as a solo artist and with his band 'Los Pacaminos' which he formed as a side project in 1993. Paul's 'An Intimate Evening With Paul Young' tour will hit the road on April 1st and will tour the UK until June 15th. The show will take place locally on April 4th at Stockport's Romiley Forum Theatre, with tickets available from the venue website. Last Friday, February 28th, I launched my new monthly podcast 'ROOTS'.  The idea of me hosting a podcast is something I have been thinking about for a few years, but with the help, support and encouragement from others, it is finally up and running. The aim of the podcast isn't to do the obvious people in which i am lucky to work with on the Manchester Music Scene and who I am lucky to be connected with, and it isn't about getting the biggest household names in music on, it's about hearing the stories from people who have played an integral part of the music scene and have great stories to tel

Pauline Town MBE is a Tameside hero and a legend. As landlady of The Station Hotel in Ashton, she has made the respected British pub much more than that, it's also a hub for the homeless, victims of domestic abuse, families in need, and those facing poverty in this area.
