100th Band or Artist on our Local Music Spotlight Feature!
As we approach the 100th band or artist to appear on our Local Music Spotlight feature, tomorrow night (Friday January 24th) we will be celebrating many of the bands who have appeared recently, at our fourth 'Indie Rock n Roll Local Music Spotlight' Live night at Whittles at Tokyo Live Music Venue in Oldham. To have featured so many bands and artists from this area over the last two years is an amazing achievement, and something I, and all of my colleagues at the Not Really Here Media Group, are really proud of, and with bands and artists still getting in touch and many lined up to appear for months to come, there is no sign of it slowing down any time soon, which shows just how much good new and unsigned music there is coming from our part of the world. Tomorrow night will see Black Sonic Revolver, Foxglove, The Sprats, Ventrelles, Sugar Crease, The Sick Fix, and Gdansk81 take to the stage, along with DJ sets from myself and Tameside Radio's Laura Beth. I will be hosting the night and playing at the club night after, and remaining tickets for the full night are only £8 each advance. The doors tomorrow night will open at 7pm, and the live bands will be on stage until around midnight with a club night following into the early hours of Saturday morning. Many of the team from Tameside Radio will be in attendance, and it would be great to see readers and listeners joining us to celebrate our amazing feature, support new music, and have a great night too. You may even discover your new favourite band! A huge thank you must also go to Lisa and Martin at Whittles for continuing to support these nights, and also to Martin Duffy who provides the bands backline for the event free of charge, purely to support new music. For more information about the Local Music Spotlight feature, a link to our official Spotify playlist, and biography's of every band and artist who have featured, visit the Tameside Radio website. Whittles at Tokyo Live Music Venue is on Roscoe St in Oldham, and advanced tickets for tomorrow night are £8 each and available at www.tamesideradio.com or www.whittlesoldham.com. A limited number will also be available on the door, at £10 each. I hope you can join us, for what I honestly believe is the best line up of new and unsigned bands in the Northwest this weekend. See you there!
