Halle's Stage and Screen showstopper

Musical numbers from across the decades hit all the right notes.

A memorable evening unfolded at The Bridgewater Hall recently, with showstopping ballads and musical numbers captivating the stage in the Halle’s Stage and Screen concert.

Just like always, the amazing Stephen Bell conducted with impeccable skill.

The Halle orchestra was powerful and the ensemble behind the instruments truly were phenomenal and had every musical number perfected.

On stage among these gifted individuals, the wickedly talented West End stars, Juliette Crosbie and Tim Howar came on and sang. Their vocals were incredible, and their vocal ranges were brilliant as they hit every note.

During their duet ‘Tonight’ from West Side Story, both Crosbie and Howar’s voices blended beautifully together, creating an uplifting performance with a strong stage presence and resonant voices.

The musical numbers that were covered ranged from 1945-2016, with arrangements from shows such as ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, ‘Funny Girl’, ‘Chicago’ and many others.

While singing ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Misérables, Howar’s voice bellowed throughout the auditorium. His deep tone was executed magnificently as you could really hear the raw emotions being portrayed during the song.

The night was filled with entertainment and beauty. From the outstanding vocals, to the swift dazzling costume changes, it really was a night to remember for everybody.

It’s always a nice touch when the audience can get involved and this happened through a surprise song that wasn’t on the set list, which was ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey, which is in the musical ‘Rock Of Ages’.

Crosbie and Howar sang this among the audience, creating a heartwarming atmosphere where everyone was admiring the talent while letting loose and having fun, singing along to the song.
