3rd Glossop Cubs gain top award

3rd Glossop Cubs who have gained their Chief Scout Silver Award outside the Scout Hut.

The highest award that cubs can earn has been presented to six cubs from 3rd Glossop.

Taking over two years to complete their Chief Scout Silver Awards were presented this week by Cub Leader, Dave Woodward.

To achieve the Chief Scout Silver Award, cubs undertake a range of outdoor and indoor activities and challenges that help them to learn about the world around them in fun and adventurous way.

The six successful cubs were Alex Lingham, Tyler Storah, Theo Bohan, George Dean, George Clegg and Ellis Osbourne.

“Cub camp is super fun,” said Ellis. “You get to try lots of activities and go and explore wherever you want in woods in the campsite,” added Alex.

Cubs is the section of Scouting open to eight-to 10-year-olds and 3rd Glossop cubs are based in the scout hut in Old Glossop and meet every Tuesday evening. Scout and cubs groups in Glossop are looking for new leaders.
