Victoria Hall in Glossop will be a hive of activity this weekend with not one but two fundraisers taking place.
Volunteers from the Friends of Victoria Hall will be busy, raising money not only for the hall's restoration but for the Ukraine appeal.
The Friends group, run by Sonja Quirk (Chair) and Kay Burnett (Secretary), say there will be some new sellers as well as familiar popular faces at their annual Spring Fair - on Saturday (12 March) from 10am to 4pm.
Proceeds raised from the 50p entry fee will be donated to The British Red Cross to support the people of Ukraine.
Sonja said: "We have charitable stalls including Glossop Arts Project - they will be there with a Tombola and cards and gifts made by the participants of their Wellbeing groups. George Bromley from ‘George’s Charity stuff’ is raising money for Manchester Eye Hospital and Ukraine with keyrings and bracelets he has made and ‘Connor’s Bags’ - Nicola Raine makes textile items to raise money for her son Connor’s electric wheelchair upkeep and all the other adaptations they need.
"We have many many craft stalls including fused glass, turned wood, crochet, felt, macrame and knitted items, ceramics, jewelry, paintings and artwork, reclaimed work, metal crafted items. There will be a tearoom with homemade cakes and refreshments. It’s well worth a visit."
Then on Sunday, Friends of Victoria Hall will be hosting a Vintage fair from midday to 4pm. They would like it to become a regular event, so are excited to see the turnout and interest.
There will be vintage, pre-loved, antique, upcycled and collectable toys, furniture, ornaments, books, clothes, jewellery, kitchenalia, bric-a-brac and much more.
