A warm welcome at Padfield Congregational Church

A warm welcome awaits at the Padfield Congregational Church, which is holding a Warm Space Day every Wednesday.

A team of volunteers are on hand each week to provide a warm space and lunch for people to enjoy.

Lunch is served from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and features homemade soup and a sandwich followed by an afternoon of chat, activities and plenty of tea and coffee.

The lunch and afternoon sessions are all provided free of charge and have been funded by Derbyshire County Council’s Warm Space Grant programme.

High Peak Mayor Councillor Ollie Cross, who has attended the warm space hub, said it is warm, friendly, and welcoming.

“There was lots of vibrant chatter and plenty of laughter over the course of the afternoon, and the company was second to none.”

In addition to the Church being open every Wednesday from 12:30pm until 4pm, a number of locations across Glossopdale and the wider High Peak are opening their doors to the community as a welcoming space.
