Barclays customers in Glossop are being advised of alternative banking provision locally following the permanent closure of the town's branch.
As we reported back in May, the branch on High Street East is closing its doors for the final time on Wednesday (25 August).
It's one of three branches in the local area to be closing for good - along with The Quadrant in Buxton and Hollins Lane in Marple.
For Glossopdale residents, it means the nearest available branch of Barclays will now be at the Arcades Shopping Centre in Ashton.
But The National Federation of SubPostmasters (NFSP) is highlighting that people can access banking services at post office branches nearby.
These are located on Norfolk Street in Glossop, Pennine Road in Simmondley and Station Road in Hadfield.
Each of these branches offers services including deposits, free cash withdrawals and balance checks, as well as offering face-to-face access to government services, bill payment, foreign currency, travel insurance and, of course, postal services.
A spokesperson for the NFSP said: "Post offices are proving vital to retaining people’s and business’s access to cash as the banks continue to desert the high street in order to cut costs and increase their profits.
"Every post office plays a vital role within the heart of the local community. Post offices provide a reliable and essential service which has continued at a high standard across the whole of the UK throughout the pandemic."
