Glossop based veterinary clinic ‘Victoria Vets’ are hosting their annual Christmas appeal in the hopes of ensuring no dog or cat will go hungry or without a toy this holiday season.
The appeal has ran for twenty two years and each year the team at Victoria Vets ask for donations such as pet food and toys for charities like the Dove Cat Sanctuary and Glossop Dogs Food Bank.
Any donation is welcome, Gill who is in charge of the appeal told us ‘anyone can come in and put the donations under our tree in reception and we will make sure it gets to the cat and dog’s homes’.
The team will deliver the donations themselves to the charities just in time for Christmas - one of the vets will take the cat food up to the cat sanctuary and Gill with a few receptionists will take the donated dog food to where it needs to go.
With the ever rising cost of household bills, Gill also said ‘because of the energy crisis, lots of people are struggling to feed their dogs and what we don’t want is for people to have to give their dogs away so the more we can help people keep their dogs in their families, we will always do that’.
To donate, simply just visit Victoria Vets on Victoria street in Glossop, the appeal is running up until Christmas and every donation, whether it be cat food or a dog bed, is welcome.
