Appeal after alleged diesel theft from lorry on Woodhead Pass

Police are appealing for witnesses after the alleged theft of diesel from a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) on the Woodhead Pass.

Glossop Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team say two men were disturbed whilst siphoning diesel from the lorry, which was parked in a lay-by off the A628. 

It happened just before 9pm on Wednesday evening (13 January). 

It's believed that the men made off in a light-coloured style van, believed to be a Peugeot in make, in the direction of Sheffield. 

Anyone who may have witnessed this, or has dashcam footage that may have captured the incident or the vehicle described above, should contact Derbyshire Constabulary by calling 101 or online via https://www.derbyshire.police.uk/contactus, quoting occurrence reference 21*033955 and the officer in the case PC 14530 Maunsell.
