Appeal for lantern event

The Whitfield Hive is asking for donations ahead of their Lantern Parade on 14 December to help cover the cost of the event.

The community parade is set to culminate at Pure Vibes on Ebenezer Street (pictured) where there will be local businesses selling lots of goodies, including sweets, cakes, chocolate gifts, handmade Christmas gifts and more.

Refreshments will be available along with a visit from Father Christmas.

In order for this event to happen, the group is asking for donations, however big or small, which will be gratefully received.

So far, a crowdfunding link has raised £70 out of a goal of £250, which you can find and donate to on The Whitfield Hive Facebook page.

More details, including the route and times, will be revealed in the next few weeks.
