Appeal to identify suspect after council worker's wallet stolen

Police are seeking to identify a suspect after a council worker's bag was stolen from his van whilst he was putting up Covid signs. 

The bag was later found in the alleyway next to Michelangelo's Italian restaurant on Terrace Road in Buxton but a wallet was still missing. 

The man's debit card has since been used in both McColl's in Spring Gardens and Stewart's Corner Shop on Lightwood Road. 

Police say the theft took place on Thursday 19 November and are looking for the public's help to identify the male suspect pictured. 

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact Derbyshire police, using any of the below methods, with the reference number 20*612957.
