Applications submitted for McDonald's signage in Glossop

Four applications have been submitted for signs, including a new 4.5-metre-high totem sign for the proposed new McDonald's restaurant with drive thru in Glossop.

Anyone wanting to comment on these latest applications submitted to High Peak Borough Council for the former Wrens Nest pub site have until 22 February.

Comments can be made, and the plans viewed, on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk

The plans for a new McDonald's have already split local opinion, with those in support of the proposal saying it would bring a derelict site back in to use, create local jobs and represent a significant investment in the local area.

Those objecting to the plans have raised fears the development could cause even more traffic problems on High Street West and create further congestion, as well as problems with litter.
