Artists of all ages, both amateur and professional, have been invited to take part in a competition to create the programme cover for the 2022 Buxton Fringe.
Following the success of this summer’s event, which featured a lively graphic design by student Hannah Webb, organisers are already planning for next July.
There is a £100 prize for the winner and their design will feature on tens of thousands of Fringe programmes as well as being publicised on the Fringe website, the Fringe flyer, on badges, in advertising and in the press.
The work of runners up will also be featured on the website.
The Fringe is leaving the choice of subject matter up to the entrants, but this year they are offering a few hints and guidelines to help artists.
Fringe marketing officer Stephanie Billen said: “We never want to dictate to our artists, and we always love to be surprised by them, but to help things along we’ve put together a few handy dos and don’ts so that competition entrants have all the information they need.
“Above all we are expecting the winning entry to be bold and eye-catching, showcasing the distinctive style of the artist whilst conveying the spirit of the Fringe.”
The competition is open to all and the closing date for entries is 10 January 2022.
