Peak District author and mountaineer Brian Hall is about to release his new book ‘High Risk: Climbing to Extinction’.
He will be talking about his new book during a tour around the UK, with his first talk taking place in Hayfield where he lives.
This will be at The Royal Hotel in Hayfield on Friday 9 September at 7pm. Entry is free, but any donations will go to the Kinder Mountain Rescue Team. There will be an opportunity to buy signed books.
Brian’s illustrated presentation reveals stories and anecdotes that give a unique insight into risk taking and climbing in both the Himalayas and the Greater Ranges.
Brian was at the forefront of British Mountaineering during the 70’s and 80’s with expeditions to mountains including Everest, K2, Jannu and Nuptse.
High Risk is a memoir dedicated to eleven of his climbing friends who risked, and too often lost, their lives to stand on some of the world’s highest peaks at a turning point in mountaineering history.
