Buxton Carnival has been postponed

The organisers of Buxton Well Dressings and Carnival have announced the events will not go ahead in July as originally hoped.

The continuing uncertainty and risks involved with the pandemic have led them to make the decision.

In a statement explaining the move they said: "The safety of the hundreds of people involved in the preparation for the events is of utmost importance to us and was our primary consideration."

They hope to be able to hold the Buxton Well Dressing Festival in some form later in the year.
