Fringe Friends co-ordinator Jeanette Hamilton has become the new Vice Chair of the Buxton Fringe.
She was elected at the Fringe’s AGM held at the Green Man Gallery on Wednesday taking on a role that had been vacant since the sad death of former Vice Chair Viv Marriott.
Sandra Jowett, Stephen Walker, and Carole Garner were all re-elected as Treasurer, Fringe Chair and Secretary respectively.
Chair Stephen Walker paid tribute to Viv as an “integral presence on the committee” and also praised the generosity and support of the late former chair, Keith Savage.
He thanked all those who helped make the Fringe such a success including the ever-active Fringe committee: “What we deliver is truly remarkable given that our budget is a tiny fraction of other large-scale Fringes. Our volunteer-run status is key.”
The AGM was attended by volunteers, performers, Fringe Friends, and other interested parties.
Next year’s Fringe is scheduled to take place from July 5-23 2023 with the website opening for entries from December 1 2022. See www.buxtonfringe.org.uk for further information.
