Open Sesame to next pantomime Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. If you fancy treading the boards, organisers of the panto are holding a get-together on Monday, 4 September at 7.30pm at New Mills Art Theatre, Jodrell Street, SK22 3HJ.
The friends of the theatre welcome back a familiar and very experienced panto production team in Director, Rob Brittles, Choreographer, Cathryn Yates and Musical Director, Claire Sweeney who at the Get-Together will talk about the story, characters etc. and answer any questions you have. Audition dates, later in September, will also be announced.
They need a strong cast of principals to fill the many character parts – goodies, baddies, Sheherazade, a storyteller to the Sultan and the essential panto Dame - Fatima Fandango a retired belly dancer …… and many more. If a part is not for you, have some fun in the ensemble of chorus and dancers to include adults and children. Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves will run over 2 weekends with performances on 2, 3, 4, and 9, 10 February 2024
The last panto which was Sleeping Beauty had great reviews and the theatre picked up two Association of Community Theatre (ACT) awards for outstanding performances by Ross Provart and Beverley Eaves.
If you would like more information or you are unable to attend our Get-Together, a friend or family member can register for you, or please contact us on Telephone: 07983 344 862 or Email: friendsofthearttheatre@gmail.com Due to a very tight schedule in September late applications for registration will not be accepted.
If performing is not for you, but you would like to be part of the production, please still come along to our Get-Together or contact us as above. You could join our theatre volunteers on Stage Crew, Technical or Front of House teams, who deliver high quality live entertainment for the community for over 50 years.
