Errwood Hall car park has been closed to allow tree felling works to take place in the Goyt Valley.
The work by Forestry England is remove larch trees following an outbreak of the tree disease Phytophthora Ramorum.
Cutting down the trees helps prevent the spread of the disease.
The work in this particular area is expected to last a few weeks.
