Caring Ken's charity legacy

A fund has been set up in memory of Ken Dibble whose funeral takes place today (Thursday) at Charlesworth Top Chapel.

Donations will go to Glossop Mountain Rescue Team, which was Ken’s chosen charity.

Due to the Government’s coronavirus restrictions, the funeral will be private.

There will be a short committal at the graveside at 2pm conducted by Pastor Jim Solomon.

The cortège will leave the Chapel of Rest in Hadfield and will go by way of Newshaw Lane and along Dinting Lane, up Glossop Road and onto Town Lane and the chapel on Monks Road.

It will briefly pause outside Oakford Manor Care Home, Newshaw Lane, where Ken, 88, from Charlesworth, was living.

There is a request for no flowers.

Donations in lieu and from anyone who wishes to donate, can be made to the Ken Dibble Memorial Fund  which has a dedicated Just Giving page which you can visit here https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/KendibbleforGMRT.

When the Covid-19 pandemic is over, there will be a memorial service for Ken at Top Chapel, followed by a reception at Glossop Rugby Club where Ken was a founder member.
