Libraries in the High Peak are celebrating Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a range of events.
Derbyshire County Council’s library service wants everyone – children and adults – to join in, with an activity or event to suit everyone.
They include:
- royal storytelling throughout June
- contribute royal memories to the archive
- jubilee makes and crafts
- bunting workshops
- fancy dress
- bounce and rhyme
- touring jubilee exhibition
- afternoon tea and royal reminiscence.
Councillor Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Strategic Leadership, Culture, Tourism and Climate Change, said: “Our libraries have come up with lots of ways for everyone in Derbyshire to celebrate this historic occasion, as the Queen marks 70 years on the throne. So, I hope you’ll join in, play a part and enjoy this event of national and international significance.”
