Changes to development plans in Chinley

A new apartment block that will be built as part of the development of the former Forge Bleach Works in Chinley has had to be reconfigured after an error was discovered on the original plans.

The course of Black Brook was incorrectly marked in the original topographical survey of the site.

This means the apartment block would be too close to the water.

High Peak Development Control Committee, at their meeting on Monday, approved changed to the plans for the siting of the building and car parking area.

Councillor Stewart Young, moving approval, said: “It looks better this way round because they have now put windows in the end of the building.”

The application was unanimously approved.
