Residents in the Chapel area are to get a say in the future of their parks, thanks to a new partnership between Community Interest Company Shift and the Parish Council.
Focusing on Chapel-en-le-Frith Memorial Park, Needhams Rec, Sparrowpit and Combs Park, local people will be able to identify what they need and want from the parks.
Andrea Kemp, CEO at Shift, said: “We’re really excited about talking to people in Chapel to find out what they want from their parks.
“We want to improve the parks so they’re a place everyone can enjoy based on listening with interest to what the community wants.”
A working group made up of representatives from Shift, Friends of Chapel Park, High Peak Borough Council and local residents will organise a variety of opportunities for these conversations to take place.
This will include discussion groups, events in the park and questionnaires. The feedback gathered will form the basis of recommendations for Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council to take forwards.
Over the summer holidays, a host of free activities are taking place in Chapel Memorial Park. You can find out more about these on the Chapel Parish Council Facebook page.
