Charity urgently appeal for unwanted laptops

Glossop charity PCrefurb is desperately appealing for people to donate unwanted laptops to help those in need access work, education and support.

The charity, based on Chapel Street, refurbish donated IT equipment and aim to give it at little or no cost to people in need to "bridge the digital divide".

But in an urgent plea, it says it currently has a waiting list for laptops but none available to give out.

The list includes children registered as carers who can't study at home, survivors of domestic violence needing to job hunt, and care leavers hoping to undertake online training courses.

The charity needs laptops ideally less than five years old, with a minimum of 4GB RAM and have Windows 7 or later installed. It is also ideal if there is a charger to go with the laptop.

All data will be erased and the charity can assist people in doing this.

If you can help, get in touch with PCrefurb by messaging their Facebook page 'PCrefurb' or emailing admin@pcrefurb.org.uk
