Tintwistle Children's Gala is still taking place this weekend but some plans have been reshaped following the delay in easing of coronavirus restrictions.
The village's biggest annual event will proceed on Saturday (26 June) from 1pm to 5pm, after last year's gala had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
But there will be no walking parade this year, following Prime Minister Boris Johnson's announcement that the fourth and final step of the government's roadmap out of lockdown has been put back until 19 July.
Before the day itself, there is a best dressed house or business competition running - with prizes given out to the first, second and third best. Entry forms are available at Tintwistle Village Store on New Road or you can email jillcrossland@outlook.com.
On Saturday, there will be a host of activities taking place at West Drive football fields, starting at 1pm.
There's a fancy dress competition, with all visitors encouraged to get in the carnival spirit and dress up as any character you like. High Peak MP Robert Largan and the borough's Mayor Cllr Paul Hardy will be judging at 1pm on the back playing field, with prizes given out in a number of age categories.
There will also be a dog competition, with judging at 2.45pm on the back playing field.
There is also a personalised Tote bag competition, with children's winning entries printed on the bags available to buy on Gala Day. These have also been sponsored by the Co-op.
Children's races will also start at 3.30pm on the back field.
Haywill Animal Rescue will bring animals to stroke and there will be various stalls, as well as 'meet and greet' characters walking around.
There will be a prize draw, with tickets on sale in Pixies Bakes and the village store, as well as on the day itself.
Arnfield Brass Band will be performing, there will be fairground rides and a bouncy castle.
In terms of refreshments, there will be hot and cold food including Tintwistle Smokehouse & Grill providing a BBQ, a beer garden with table service, as well as sweets and ice-creams available.

The gala committee all retired in 2019 - the year that the event celebrated its centenary - and a lack of new volunteers meant the future of the gala had been in doubt. But Tintwistle Athletic Football Club stepped in to ensure the gala can continue.
