A major road in Hadfield is to remain shut for another month.
Park Road has been closed since November, with Network Rail carrying out repairs to the railway bridge.
The work was due to be completed by 3 December, however it is now over-running until 18 January. Letters have been posted to local residents to inform them.
Network Rail is carrying out waterproofing and brick works to ensure the bridge is safe for traffic to drive over.
A spokesperson said: "We have had to extend the closure of Park Road because of delays to the project. We are aware it is a residential street and we aim to carry out most of the repairs between 7am and 5.30pm.
"However some work does need to be completed over night on Saturdays and Sundays. We will try to keep noise to a minimum."
While a diversion has been put in place, a lot of locals have been using Platt Street in Padfield instead of the advertised route along Newshaw Lane, Shaw Lane and Dinting Road - which is causing concern among Padfield residents.
Padfield borough councillor Ollie Cross said: "Network Rail are fully aware of the issues that Platt Street residents are currently facing and the village of Padfield as a whole. I have impressed upon them the urgency to produce the additional road signage that has been previously promised.
“Network Rail were very apologetic and said that they'll be liaising with Centurion Traffic Management in order to try and sort this out as soon as possible. Admittedly, I've been told as much before and little has materialised. We now need for them to deliver rather than offer more warm words.”
